We are writing to address the recent coverage by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and certain media outlets, such as KPLC, KPEL 965, and others, regarding Infinite Health Integrative Medical Center and ourselves and a settlement with Medicare over billing related to the P-Stim device. While we have agreed to resolve this matter through a settlement, we are deeply troubled by the incomplete and misleading narrative that has been presented. Neither the Attorney General nor the reporting media seem interested in the truth, and we feel compelled to share the whole story.

We were approached by Justin Anderson of JAS Consulting, a Texas-based medical billing and collection service. Mr. Anderson introduced us to the P-Stim device, promoting it as an effective method for treating pain covered by insurance and Medicare. He positioned himself as a trusted vendor for the device and required us to engage his company as our medical biller and collector for a fee of 6% of net collections. Relying on his expertise and assurances, we agreed to move forward, believing that all billing would be handled appropriately and in compliance with Medicare regulations.

Only later did we discover Medicare did not cover the P-Stim device. Upon this realization, we acted swiftly and responsibly: We immediately stopped providing the service, reimbursed Medicare for certain overpayments, and terminated our contract with JAS Consulting. These actions reflect our commitment to ethical practice and patient care, yet the DOJ, the Attorney General’s office, and the media have entirely overlooked this critical context.

Instead, the focus has been narrowly placed on the settlement itself, with no regard for the truth of how this situation arose or the steps we took to correct it. The implication of wrongdoing on our part is unjust and fails to acknowledge that JAS Consulting’s billing practices misled us. It is disheartening that those responsible for informing the public—whether through official statements or news reports—have shown little interest in presenting a fair and balanced account.

Our priority has always been, and will continue to be, providing exceptional care to our patients while upholding the highest standards of integrity. This experience has reinforced our dedication to ensuring every aspect of our practice complies with legal and ethical guidelines. We are grateful for the trust and support of our patients and the Lake Charles community as we move forward from this matter.
